For Speedy Signs New Zealand, inspiration plays an important role in the customer journey. As one of New Zealand’s largest signage franchise groups, with 28 locations nationwide and thousands of projects completed each month, the business works across an enormous range of signage applications.

From vehicle wraps and reception signage through to retail graphics, directional systems, illuminated signs, wall graphics, and large-format installations, the scope of work is incredibly diverse.

The challenge was not capability. It was visual consistency.

Like many fast-moving franchise businesses, capturing high-quality photography of completed projects across every location proved difficult. Some stores consistently documented their work well, while others had limited imagery available. Project photography varied in style, quality, lighting, and composition, making it difficult to present a cohesive and consistently inspiring visual experience to customers exploring signage possibilities.

At the same time, many customers struggled to visualise how different signage solutions might work within their own businesses and environments.

Brand IQ was engaged to help solve both challenges simultaneously.

Rather than relying solely on traditional project photography, we developed an AI-powered Inspiration Gallery designed to expand the way customers explored signage ideas online.

The strategy was not about replacing real-world projects or showcasing unrealistic concepts. Instead, the focus was on creating visually compelling, commercially relevant examples that helped customers better understand the breadth of possibilities available to them.

Using AI-generated imagery alongside curated signage concepts, the gallery showcased a wide variety of applications including elegant 3D reception lettering, architecturally integrated directional signage, vehicle wraps, timber-cut signage, retail graphics, illuminated branding, and large-format window installations.

The imagery was intentionally developed to feel realistic, polished, and contextually believable. Rather than presenting signage as isolated objects, the concepts were shown integrated into real-world business environments, helping customers more easily imagine how similar solutions could enhance their own spaces and branding.

The Inspiration Gallery quickly became a valuable customer engagement tool, particularly during the early stages of enquiry and idea generation where visual inspiration plays a critical role in decision-making.

It also provided Speedy Signs with a more scalable and cohesive visual asset library that could support the wider national network, regardless of the availability or quality of individual franchise photography.

Beyond its customer value, the project also gained recognition within the wider international signage community that Speedy Signs belongs to, highlighting the innovative use of AI as a practical business and marketing tool within the signage sector.

More broadly, the project demonstrated how AI-generated visualisation can help service-based businesses overcome common content limitations while creating richer, more inspiring customer experiences. By blending creativity, technology, and commercial realism, the Speedy Signs Inspiration Gallery opened up new ways for customers to explore ideas, build confidence, and engage more deeply with the brand from the very beginning of their signage journey.
